Ghost

Here is my entry in the Stamp Something Halloween card challenge. The little ghost peeking over the middle strip of green is stamped then cut with the marvy lg. circle punch. I cut the wavy edge on the orange paper with the Creative Memories curvy cutter. The stars and Ghouls are stickers. I made this as a make and take at a scrapbook day today. Had a lot of fun and met some ladies who also enjoy making scrapbooks and cards. I made this card and half of the other two I just put up and have 14 scrapbook pages made. I still have to do a little journaling on about half of them but it was a very productive day. Happy Crafting everyone, Janet

4 Shapes

My entry for the Crazy 4 Challenges C4C8 different shapes challenge. I started with a plain white cardstock base then added four different shapes and colors to make my card. The black shape has been dry embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder. The verse is put on with raised tape to add demension to the card. Thanks for looking. Janet

Beauty of Grace

Here is my entry in Taylored Expressions TESC88 challenge. I used the Marvy extra large and large punch to make my circles, print paper from JoAnn's, plain black cardstock for my base card and buttons with ribbon to make my card. I hope you enjoy my creation. Janet

Little Girl Birthday

Here is my entry in the 2 Red Bananas Sunday sketch challenge. I used one of the baby girl Magnolia sketches that Robin sent me to make this card. This card base is the linen look paper from JoAnn's, the second layer has been embossed with the cuttlebug birthday embossing folder. The print paper is from last years scrap paper daily calendar and the sentiment is a rub on. I used colored pencils to color in my little angel. Hope you enjoy the card, Janet

A Smile

This is the #4 card in the Verve sketch contest on SCS once again I used linen look cardstock for the base card and my scrap paper to finish off the card. The verse is recycled from one of my daily thought books I find at yard sales. I used ribbon and a cute button with jute tied in the holes to finish off the card. Thanks for looking and Happy Crafting, Janet

Many Thanks

This is #5 in the Verve sketch challenge on SCS I used the linen look cardstock for the base again, patten paper from JoAnn's, parts of a gold doilie, ribbon and my cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the center circle. I cut my circles with the two largest Marvy circle punches ( I love these punches) the sentiment is from the Angel Company. Hope you enjoy my cards, Janet

Sitting Pretty

This is #3 in my Verve sketch challenge on SCS I used two of the Magnolia stamps and colored them with my handy pencils. The little girl is put on with raise tape to add demension to the card. The saying is from the Angel Company. Thanks for looking, Janet

My Friend

Dreams

Here is my entry in Mercy's Tues. sketch challenge MTSC44. I used linen look cardstock from JoAnn's for the base card, matted my tan on black and used black star brads in the corners. The verse and mat were cut with my nestibilities. The verse is recycled from a daily inspiration booklet. I am going to use this card along with the 5 cards I did for the Verve challenge as a 6 piece set for a Christmas present. Enjoy, Janet

We Love

Here is my Sweet Shop entry SSS26 The something extra for this challenge was to follow the sketch and recycle. The recycle part is the verse (from a booklet of daily thoughts) and the silk flowers from a bunch of flowers I bought at a second hand store. I use my nestibilities to cut the center images, the flowered image is a piece of ribbon (it cut out pretty well, I had to do a little trimming to get all the edges cut), the metal emblishments are from Wal Mart. Enjoy Janet

S is for Shirt

Here is the card I sent for a swap on the Just Cards swap group. I had lots of fun making it. It is also a sketch entry on SCS. I stamped, colored and cut out the shirt (a stamp I found at a garage sale this summer) used some of my JoAnn's pattern paper, the cuttlebug edge embossing folder and some fun emblishments to make a card to send to a fisherman. Enjoy, Janet

With Sympathy

Here is my entry in Card Patterns #37 challenge I tweaked the sketch just a little because I was having trouble doing it exactly like they showed. I think it made a nice Sympathy card. I used the cuttlebug embossing folder for the top imprint and colored the centers of the flowers with my gel pen. I also ran the gel pen around all the circle edges. Happy crafting everyone, Janet

Fun with Green

This is my entry in the October #1 scrap and stamp Canada challenge I had a lot of fun mixing my greens to make a monocromatic card. Hope you enjoy my card, Janet

Christmas Iris Fold

Looking at cards on other blogs was the winner on last weeks question. The new question will be up in a few minutes. I hope everyone takes time to vote. Also take a minute, leave a comment and get your name on the list for my BLOG CANDY. The rules are in the side bar. So far only 11 people have gotten their names entered. The month is almost over. Here is a Christmas card I made using Iris Fold I have enclosed a link to a site where you can get free patterns and instructions on how to do the Iris Fold. I use ribbon on my cards instead of paper but otherwise it is all the same. Enjoy, Janet

Here are photos of the quilts we finished this last week for our Faith In Action event. We have 74 completed quilts, half will go to our hospital to give to the needy new mothers and the other half will go to a mission in Mexico. We had lots of fun doing the quilts. There were 11 ladies and 1 gentleman that worked on the quilts. 3 of us did all the sewing and everyone else sandwitched the quilts, ironed or tied the quilts. Walt and I had spent a lot of time at home making tops so there were jobs for those who didn't sew to do on our work days. It took three days at the church to finish all the quilts. A few of the quilts went home with people in the church to tie in the evenings. Next week I will be mailing the quilts to Calif. where someone will take them to the mission. This is always a fun project for me. We have done it for the last three years and I hope we continue for many more. Happy crafting, Janet

Pretty Flower

This is my entry in the Crazy 4 sketch challenge C4C7 I colored one of the little girl images I received from a Just Cards friend with my handy pencils, use the dove blender, matted her on yellow with an additional partial mat of white. I added yellow silk flowers with orange foam centers in all the flowers. I haven't decided if this is going to be an all occasion card or a birthday card. Will decide when it is time to mail it to someone. Happy crafting, Janet

Visit to Jenelle's Labor Day 2008

This is a two page layout of our visit to my husbands middle daughter's home in Nevada. We spent Labor Day weekend of 2008 visiting with the kids, playing with their new cats, eating ribs at the Rib Cookoff in Reno. For these pages I used linen look black for the background, maple leaf pattern paper for contrast, matted the photos and journaling in two different shades of light orange, punched out some maple leaves and spread them around on the pages. I have these posted on my SCS site along with some of my other work. Happy scrapping, Janet
