Red rose and silk flowers C4C5

Since my little poll indicates flowers are the favorite emblishment for those who visited my blog I am posting one of my recent cards. I did the string embroidery rose in a vase and added silk flowers with button centers. This is also my entry in the Crazy 4 Challenges Sat. contest for this week. It made up into a very nice anniversary card. It is good to be back home, we had a great visit with my mother, sister, sister in law and their husbands. We came home to rain which we need and I am glad to be back so I can work on my cards and play with the new card making toys I bought or that my sister in law gave me. Happy crafting to you all, Janet

Scrap pages in Pink, Ashley and Kelly

This is a double scrapbook page showing two of our Granddaughters when they were young. I am finally getting around to scraping some of the older photos. Notice I used string embroidery for emblishments on each page along with silk flowers and buttons. The oldest girl is now in college and her sister is a junior in High School. These are my husbands grandchildren so to be fair I have only had the photos a little over 6 years. Hope you enjoy the addition of some scrap pages. Happy crafting, Janet

Glamorous Babe SSS23

Here is my entry for the Sweet Shop sketch challenge SSS23. This is an older Art Impressions stamp set. The verse inside says "Happy Birthday from one Glamorous Babe to another". The image is colored with pencils and put on with raised tape to add demension to the card. Just to let everyone know the tomatoes are all canned and I am free of canning chores until the apples get ripe. Happy crafting, Janet

Using paint chips

Here is a fun card I made last month for a card exchange in one of my groups. The paint chips are as they come from the store, I used my cat stamps from the Angel company and the word stamps from Micheals. The silk flower, button and dragon flies cover up the wording on the paint chip. The coragated cardboard for the base is just some packing cardboard from something my husband bought (never throw anything out--it might just come in handy for a card project some day). There are many different ways you can use paint chips for your card projects. Splitcoaststampers has tutorials and an album full of different ideas. Check it out when you have time. Thanks for looking, I have to go can some more tomatoes, hopefully this is the last batch.

Dragonfly Birthday card MTSC41

Here is my entry in the Lord Have Mercy Tuesday sketch contest I used a paper punch for the decorative edge, ribbon, my cuttlebug embossing folder on the main part of the card. The center element was done with my brayer (wrapped in rubber bands for texture) a stamped dragonfly that is over stamped and embossed in white. I used a decorative button for an accent. Thanks for looking, Janet

Beauty in Red and Green

Todays card is a string embroidery Christmas card. Simple design in red and green. This is a very easy card to make, hardest part is punching all the holes. I had an enjoyable time at choir practice tonight. Will be going to the directors home and singing with his wife on Sunday to see if maybe I would fit better as a tenor than an alto. I am having trouble hitting some of the higher notes. Worked at the church helping put together the monthly newsletter today and canned one batch of tomatoes. All together a very nice day. Fall is here and the evenings are cool, hopefully it doesn't freeze for a while because I am enjoying my flowers. The dahlias are blooming so nice with the cooler weather. Happy crafting to everyone.

Unscripted Sketches number 25

Here is my latest sketch for Unscripted Sketches I used the same color scheme in this sketch as I did in the MoJo Monday sketch. The card swap these are for is a 2-4-2 so I need two cards in the same colors but I can make them each different styles. It is fun to see the difference in a card just by using different sketches with the same materials. Enjoy my cards and I hope they inspire you.

MoJo Monday 106

Here is my MoJo Monday 106 sketch challenge card. I made it in the colors for a swap I am in where we are to use any shade of browns/tans and one other color. As you can see I picked pink. I used my cuttlebug embossing folder, silk flowers, a brad and some ribbon to design the card.
Happy crafting,
Janet

Setting Pretty

This is one of the new Magnolia stamps from the fall collection. I made this card for a swap on one of my card groups. I will try to get a photo of some of our quilts on the computer tomorrow. We have 50 finished and 20 almost done. Will have another work day soon to get them done. I had a great day but am tired tonight. To much sewing makes my shoulders ache. A good night's sleep will fix that though.

Happy crafting to you all,

Janet

More jewlery

Happy Sunday everyone. Here are my newest creations in the jewlery line :) They are the same pattern just different size and kind of beads. I made the blue one first (it is all glass beads) the other has opal crystals and fake pearls. I made earings to go with it as you can see. Had lots of fun with this pattern. I also made another of the emerald bracelet I showed you a few days ago. Managed to make it in my size this time. Most of these will go as Christmas presents to my family.
Everyone have a great day, I am off to the church in a few minutes. We are having our annual Faith in Action Weekend so I will be busy making baby quilts today. I will take a photo to share with everyone.
Happy crafting.
